Microsoft PDC 2005 Videos

Microsoft's PDC 2005 videos are available online at http://www.sys-con.tv/read/category/1238.htm. Lots of content available.

I have no prejudice against Microsoft technologies. I do believe the principle
of "each tool for it's job". Microsoft technologies do have its place and its use
and the latest .NET platform, languages and tools are way too cool! Just check
them out for a bit and let me know if you agree....

Microsoft is coming up with cool concepts and tools I believe. It does not hurt to know a bit of what they are doing and if not deciding to use them you can surely *cough* *cough* "borrow" ideas...

An example: although getting there, the Linux community is still not where it should be regarding desktop friendliness. Granted systems like Ubuntu made a lot of progress there but I believe one has to admit that MS has done an impressive job with their Windows...I simply can not imagine, for the majority of cases, a non-techie person to install say a wireless card on Linux...now can you ?

But then again, does not mean it will not get there...and it does not mean that it does not get there by looking at what MS has been doing...

I am by no means saying that all good ideas come only from MS...please don't get me wrong...but there are also pretty good ideas coming from MS.

As for development tools, I definitely see pretty cool stuff coming up with MS Visual Studio 2005 and .NET 2.0 but then again, I also see pretty cool stuff happening on the Java World...

Each tool for it's job I guess...know the tools, choose them wisely...(as Yoda would probably say ;-) )

Again, don't get me started on M$... I still have a bit of respect for you because you use Ubuntu :)

Remember Yoda's wise words... the dark side is easier, but never give in... for my ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is!

Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny, consume you it will... sounds so familiar doesn't it? :)) But hey, I'm not pointing fingers at any coMpany :)))
